Eurojumelages - The twinners tell us

2024: Skiing in the Dolomites (Pozza di Fassa) from 21st – 28th January

After some people praised the ski week in Pozza at last year's Oscar, I decided to take part after all, especially as I think the area in Val di Fassa is really beautiful and I was very interested in the pistes there.
We were a very large group, as the participants from Alsace had come in a large coach. However, it wasn't just Jumeleurs, as we teamed up with another group of hikers and skiers to make the journey by coach possible.
Due to the large number of participants, there were inevitably several groups with different activities, so I can only describe those that I took part in myself.

2023: “In the sun of Benidorm”

Two Eurojumelages events took place in Benidorm between 5th and 11th November, 2023. The events were “In the Benidorm sun" and a Spanish language course; there were 54 participating in these events.

Concurrently, the annual congress of the Asociaciones de Personas Mayores de Telefónica took place, with participants from all major cities in Spain. The Mayores de Telefónica de Valencia group and the Jumelages AHET Valencia had organized a very interesting week-long programme.

2023: Walking at OSCAR in the Swabian Alb

Tuesday 12th September

Walk to the Bear's Cave ( walking group 2)

Walking group 2 consisting of the leader Werner Ruckwied and 38 other participants set off at 9:30 a.m for the approx. 10-kilometre walk. There were also 3 Jumeleurs from Ulm. First we went downhill from the Sonnenmatte and then through the village of Erpfingen to the town hall and the guest's house.

2023: Cyclists at the OSCAR on the Swabian Alb

Tuesday 12th September

After breakfast and with a packed lunch, we met in front of the holiday village around 9.30 am. The thermometer at the holiday village showed 23 degrees and it was cloudy. The weather forecast predicted possible rain for the late afternoon. We were sent documentation in advance; I had printed it out and had it with me. Christian gave a short speech and Sigrid explained that she would be available with her car and bike rack.

2023: OSCAR in the Swabian Alb from 11th – 15th September

This year's OSCAR took place in the Sonnenmatte holiday village near Sonnenbühl-Erpfingen in the Swabian Alb. We were accommodated in apartments and in holiday houses.
Members from several German sections shared the organization: Michaela Alber from the Böblingen-Tübingen section, Rita Caumettes, Werner Ruckwied and Werner Schmid from the Stuttgart section, Christian Siebold from the Konstanz section together with Alfred and Irmi Corbet from the Darmstadt section.

2023: CA Bonn- Guest program

The Eurojumelages Management Board meeting took place in Bonn from 20 to 24 April 2023.

Twenty-six people were present, including seven accompanying members.

On Friday morning, while the board members were working, Carola and Gaby (Eurojumelages Bonn), welcomed us and accompanied us on a metro trip to Cologne.

2023: German language course in Berlin

Sabine, President of the Berlin-Potsdam Twinning Association, was very pleased that the German language course was held in Berlin from 16 to 22 April 2023.
The course took place at the Humboldt-Institute and it was imperative to have about ten participants in order to benefit from a group rate.
The participants were 12 in number, 7 French and 5 Portuguese. Prior to the course they underwent an on-line test to determine their level according to the European classification from A1 to C1-2 and be integrated into small groups of about 12 people.

2022: Douro Cruise and Wine harvesting & Tasting – 9th to 11th September

What a lovely group of people we were for this Eurojumelages event! Participants came from 5 different countries:
7 from Germany, 3 from Malta, 1 from Poland, 8 from Portugal and 5 from France. The atmosphere was really one of friendship and everybody had the chance to get to know all
